The Exit I Never Chose

 "The Exit I Never Chose"

I felt disrespected, time and again,

Swallowed the silence, endured the pain.

In moments so small, I broke inside—

But never once did I question your side.

I never said no, I never closed the door,

Still, you wanted less, and I gave more.

Was I kicked, or gently erased?

Was it anger, or just being replaced?

You chose the exit, I held the space,

Hoping you’d turn, see my face.

But all I saw were fading trails,

Of laughter lost and loyalty that fails.

Now every time your name appears,

It pulls my chest, revives old tears.

My heart still sinks, too heavy to fight,

For someone who walked away without a sight.
